I can't call myself much of a painter-sketching person. But yes I can draw. I can draw from memory and sometimes I get it right.

The Cannes film festival had taken me and my art director to Europe. Syama , my wife did the art direction for the short film. The Short film corner was exciting but  Europe as a whole was a visually different 'dictionary'.

Souvenirs

Syama and I had plans to visit Europe and Cannes was a good reason. I guess the real reason must be Paris. I had started scribbling in the notepad I got along with the stationary kit from Cannes.

I will post the photos taken in a future post but these are the scribbles made .  They are not finished products. But they help me remember.

Echo

After spending about 6 months on the draft of my feature film I decided to go to Chennai and spent time with my favorite people. Rakhil Akkali (scientist, photographer, model, friend)  had a room in iit madras.While fighting with his inner demons and outer demons I crash and occupy the space in his room.

There were discussions about life, love, philosophies. Meanwhile I took a retreat into Yelamalai, Yercaud , hoggenekal only to come back with bigger deeper demons that I collected on the way. The sweet ones and the sour ones. A week was spend running around in adventure.

The time was spent in making decision on how to approach producers and life. Rakhil was a great inspiration. So was Regan. (Photographer, filmmaker, friend, artist )A week was spend in Ooty discussing cinema

.

Another peaceful period was spent in pondichery.

Thank god for Priyanka (designer, friend) for being around in Chennai. Even Naveen a music director doing Phd in madras was an inspiration. A period I will never forget.

Rollercoasters, temple runners, memory makers, Life givers, breathe takers and me.

Amalgamate

IDC ended in glory with me getting the certificates. Meanwhile i have started scribbling random working around in and out exploring and experiencing.

Chicken Heartedness

I woke up at around 3.00 am and she had disappeared. She tried to blow her soul into me through that kiss.

I haven't had a dream in a while but this has strecthed the known standards of my chicken heartedness.
I couldn't sleep that night as I clearly remember the dead girls face.

 Maybe its because I am exploring the "dark" genre.
"The shining" was quite an experience. "the woman in black" was a spook and a probably food for the spoofs.

Meanwhile Case 356 looks like a joke when I go back and view it. Maybe that is how it is is supposed to be. Everything is important when you are at the moment and then it is a big fat joke.

Kiron and Bimal helping me through the chicken heartedness. 'Renoy'ness also helping quite a  bit.

Also since this is an artblog posting one of concept art from Case 356, (the piece was colored after the movie but the sketch was made even before the Video communication lecture) ..will be posting snapshot from the storyboard in the next post.

Also putting an assignment from last sem ..the Visual letter (we were suppose to make a visual and sent it our friend based on an experience in IIT and his interpretation  was to be submitted..thanks Anoop Jaffer for the reply )
